Apologies to Roseann Yoshida. In the June newsletter, I reported that she identified the young man in the May Talk Story photo as “Hideki Ono.” Roseann correctly wrote “Hideto Uno” on a Post-it note. My brain was napping when I transferred the information into the Talk Story column. “When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.” ~ Anonymous Well, this wasn’t my biggest mistake ever, but something good did come from it. “Just wanted to say that the person in the photo is not "Hideki Ono", but his name is Hideto Uno.
I have no other info about the photo, but I just wanted to make that correction. Blessings!”

“I saw the picture in the VJCC newsletter and the correct name of the young man in the center of the picture is Hideto Uno. I grew up with him. In 1990 he would be going into his junior year at Culver City High School. He now works at Trader Joe's in West L.A. on Palms/Sepulveda. I still keep in touch with him. He actually was one of my groomsmen in my wedding.
Thanks for the picture. It brought back fond memories of VJCC carnival when I was growing up. I am now a young man of 35 years of age.
