Venice Fishing Club

By Tom Ikemoto

After about forty-something years, the Fishing Club will no longer continue.  There were times when we had over 100 members.  Little by little it got to be less and less due to old age, passing away, etc.

We did have good times and enjoyed going fishing.  Too bad we can’t continue.  No young people want to join and take over.

Members, whoever is left, are old and tired and only a few members are showing up to our derbies.  That’s why we decided to quit the club.

This year was the last year for the Fishing Club Chicken Wing Sale.   We won’t have it next year.  Some other organization may want to take over but I don’t know at this time.  We will have our last derby (Christmas Derby) at Santa Ana River Lake in December.
