Venice Pioneer Project

The Venice Pioneer Project is an all-volunteer and nonprofit organization started in 1971. Originally conceived to bridge the understanding between the Issei (first generation of Japanese-American pioneers) and the Sansei (third generation JAs), the Project has evolved to serve the social,
recreational and educational needs of the senior members of the Venice Japanese Community Center.

We offer our members a variety of travel opportunities, including Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Bryce National Park, Zion National Park, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and Death Valley. Short trips to San Diego, the Santa Barbara Orchid Show, Cherry Picking in Beaumont, Strawberry Picking in Santa Maria, Hearst Castle, and frequent trips to Las Vegas.

Delicious luncheons are served throughout the year with guest speakers on important topics of interest to our members: Health Seminars, Medicare, Social Security, Long Term Care, Estate Planning and Safety. The annual Holiday Luncheon is a festive and formal sit-down affair with a fabulous catered meal from Paul Tran's Unique Catering, live entertainment, door prizes and holiday gifts for every attendee.

Come join the fun and meet new friends. New members are welcome to join by contacting Sharon Kumagai by clicking here.
