Happy 2023 Everyone! 🥳🎉
We hope you've all been enjoying the very popular monthly Bento Program throughout 2022.
Our next Bento Day will be on January 27 (yakisoba with tempura 🍤).
All it takes to continue participating in the bento program is to renew your 2023 VJCC membership. Your VJCC membership also allows you to participate other senior programs such as the Senior Wellness Program and the Pioneer Project as well as many other programs offered by the VJCC.
Pick up your VJCC membership renewal from Jackie Kittaka. She will be at the center beginning January 9 to hand out membership forms and taking membership dues.
(Note: If you are a life-time member or a Keiro-kai member, no renewal fee is required. However, please complete the membership form to ensure your information is up-to-date in our records.)
VJCC Nutrition's “Monthly Bento!”

For meal deliveries, please call (323) 294-5226.
We are open for in-person dining as follows:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Japanese Lunches will be served Tuesdays and Thursdays. ALL lunches are first come, first served. The Senior Nutrition Program was founded 40 years ago by Hitoshi & Kay Shimizu. Their passion and dedication to the Japanese community brought nutrition, joy, and togetherness to so many of us over the years. We vow to do our best to continue their legacy.
We hope you can participate in our “Fun Fridays,” which include:
Bingo every Friday at 10:15 a.m., giving away a variety of prizes with weekly freebies – nobody goes away empty handed.
Cake Day – the third Friday of each month – celebrates all our friends with birthdays that month. The cakes are as great as the guests they honor!
Bento Day – the last Friday of the month (except December) – you must be BOTH a VJCC member and Senior Nutrition member to participate.
We also incorporate various activities to keep our seniors healthy, active, and educated. See the VJCC newsletter for upcoming events and offered services.
Our amazing volunteers are the key to the success of the program. If you are interested in volunteering, you can contact the VJCC office, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 310-822-8885.
