Home Market Garden
1st & 3rd Mondays (May through November)
Drop off produce from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Community shop from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

We put the carts out in June, but most gardens were just beginning to be planted.  So, there were no vegetables that are usually available at this time of the year.  We'll strive to have our home garden carts out on a regular basis (1st and 3rd Mondays of each month) sometime in 2024.  Between now and then, if you have anything extra you would like to share from your  garden or fruit trees, please bring them in and we'll put them out for our seniors.

Fun Fridays
Bingo - Every Friday, 10:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Birthday Cake - 3rd Friday @ Bingo
Bento - Last Friday of each month, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

The Senior Nutrition Program was founded 40 years ago by Hitoshi & Kay Shimizu.  Their passion and dedication to the Japanese community brought nutrition, joy, and togetherness to so many of us over the years.  We vow to do our best to continue their legacy.

Get up, get dressed, and get going by participating in our “Fun Fridays,” which include:

Bingo every Friday at 10:15 a.m., giving away a variety of prizes with weekly freebies – nobody goes away empty handed!

Cake Day – the third Friday of each month – celebrates all our friends with birthdays that month.  The cakes are as great as the guests they honor!

Bento Day – the last Friday of the month (except December) – you must be BOTH a VJCC member and Senior Nutrition member to participate.

Get together with old friends or make new friends, grab a few magazines or puzzles, and find out what else is going on in the VJCC.

We also incorporate various activities to keep our seniors healthy, active, and educated.  See the VJCC newsletter for upcoming events and offered services.

So get up, get dressed and get going to maintain your overall health and well-being!
