WATERCOLOR
水彩画
Just bring paper, brushes & watercolor paints.
Although we mainly practice Western style watercolor painting, we are mindful that watercolor painting is a Japanese art form which was originally started in China.

Required materials for the class include watercolor paper, watercolor paints and watercolor brushes of various sizes and shapes.
The class meets in Room 5 at the VJCC from September to June, on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. No class during July and August.

At each class meeting, our instructor demonstrates specific watercolor techniques for painting a scene or object for that session. Then we paint on our own, utilizing those techniques. We are helped to analyze our own work in progress to improve in its completion. At the end of the year in June, we prepare a display of our watercolors for the VJCC Summer Festival. Some paintings and/or cards may be for sale, with proceeds as donations to the VJCC.

This class is appropriate for adults of all skill levels. Whether you are a beginning or experienced watercolor painter, this class will offer you a chance to heighten your creativity, explore various watercolor techniques, and experience a sense of joy and accomplishment, all in the company of supportive classmates, who are also learning, just like you!
